I lived at Identity for some time when they opened in 2019 and also lived there for some time last year. I have to say that Identity is hands down the best housing option for FIU students, and I had so many happy memories at Identity that I will always cherish. I made so many friends here, and met my best friend (former roomate) here as well! I love the modern decor and the overall aesthetic of the building. Identity gives modern college student vibes for sure! Parking was convenient, and I used the pool and study rooms a lot. All of the amenities at Identity were great, and my apartment was so homey and comfortable. The staff are also professional and very nice. That being said, I did wish that I had more freedom to choose my housing floor/unit/roommates. Thank you Identity for the memories!
Writing to say thank you to the great staff at Identity Miami. The girls and guys in the front office are actually so helpful and kind. I never had a problem with mail, packages, anything. I lived here a little over a year, and it’s the small things that made it really nice. When I first moved in, I arrived past close because of traffic, but someone from the office still came back to get me set up and ready to move in. The staff also gets to know you which is a very personable thing considering how many people they must see everyday. They always knew my name and room number. The maintenance staff is also incredibly kind and work to make everything as best as they can. I really don’t understand the other reviews about “bad” wifi because I have literally never had a problem, when at the other surrounding apartments, I always do..lol. Identity was a great place to live- nice small community with pretty good amenities, and the place itself just looks visibly nice on the inside. Lastly, thank you to the new management that has come in…you have made a noticeable difference in Identity in a short amount of time! The communication with this management has been really timely and consistently reliable.
I recently concluded a two-year stay at Identity Miami, and I must say that my experience was far from pleasant. Throughout my time there, the numerous issues I encountered made it impossible for me to recommend this apartment building to anyone.
One of the major problems was the consistently malfunctioning elevators. It was a daily struggle to navigate the building, as the elevators would frequently break down, leaving residents stranded and frustrated. I vividly remember countless occasions when it took me a frustratingly long time to find an alternative route to my apartment. This inconvenience alone was enough to make living in the building unbearable.
Furthermore, the lack of security was alarming. The garage door was perpetually broken, providing zero protection for residents' vehicles. A close friend of mine had the unfortunate experience of having car parts stolen from the garage, highlighting the complete disregard for residents' safety and property.
The overall cleanliness of the building was appalling. Trash would pile up in common areas for days on end, with overflowing bins becoming a common sight. The stench and unsightly mess were not only unpleasant but also attracted pests, creating an unhealthy environment for residents. Additionally, the elevators were often reeking of dog pee, which would remain uncleaned for hours on end. This neglectful attitude towards maintaining basic hygiene standards was utterly unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the staff members were consistently rude and unhelpful. Whether it was addressing maintenance issues or simply seeking assistance, their demeanor was often dismissive and unprofessional. Their lack of empathy and unwillingness to address residents' concerns only added to the already frustrating living experience.
In conclusion, my two-year tenure at Identity was marked by constant elevator malfunctions, a lack of security, unclean premises, and the disrespectful behavior of the staff. I strongly advise anyone considering this apartment building to reconsider their options. The countless inconveniences and disregard for residents' well-being make it a regrettable choice for anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable living environment.
They don’t want to give me my deposit back. Since November I have been trying to get my deposit, they take forever to answer my emails and keep having excuses about the check being sent from Chicago since early December (today is January 7). It’s been almost 3 months of this process and nothing. Don’t trust these people, they just want your money and the building it’s not worth it.
The building is just okay. It is close to university so very convenient. Management was consistantly rude and terrible throughout the 2 years we lived there, we had a lot of problems in our apartment that were out of our control and management did little to nothing to help. I will say that their maintenance team is extremely professional, attentive, and quick. They were one of the reasons we stayed in the building. When these problems arose, they did their very best to fix it as quickly as possible. I specifically loved ANTONIO. It was a pleasure seeing him around the building. Antonio fue extremadamente profesional y nos ayudó bastante. Whenever we had an issue (which was often) he would show up with a great attitude and would be of much help. All three of them are fantastic. Great staff, not so great building.
My experience at Identity has been good for the past year I have lived here. Building is mostly clean and it is easy to get packages. Maintenance will respond in a timely manner to requests.
However, if you value having the ability to use the elevators in a timely manner, especially when lugging groceries and other items to, let's say the 11th floor, you should not sign a lease here. For the past few months, we are lucky if 2 of the 4 elevators are working. I cannot recall the last time all 4 elevators were functioning. A massive inconvenience. Not sure how this is acceptable, but good luck if you move here maybe you'l become a stairs person :)
Wi-Fi never works, can’t even browse a daily things. Literally like 5 days a week there will be at least 3-4 hours daily when it’s just impossible to use Wi-Fi because it won’t even load a YouTube video, and the manager just keep saying it’s not their problem because they use service of another third-party company. Which make no sense because ID is the one who is choosing their service providers and they should change or solve the issue of Wi-Fi. Especially when there is a dozens reviews here stating the same problem
Honestly I was a bit skeptical about Identity because of the amazing amenities, design, etc for a affordable price. We live in Miami where everything is EXPENSIVE! Identify Miami is worth the cost. I hope everything goes great as I spend this year and hopefully future years here.
